Happy Birthday #31

This year's birthday was nice and calm.  Bruce took me to Dressler's for dinner.  They have great steak and yummy cheesecake.  I was overwhelmed with the love and cards that were given to me on my special day.

What a difference a year makes

A little over one year ago we witnessed Matt Asmus (Kim's cousin)  graduate from University of South Carolina with a Master's in Piano performance.  On Friday, September 5, 2008 we watched him graduate from US Army Ranger school.   It is an incredible amount of work and sacrifice.  We are so proud of him!!   CONGRATULATIONS MATT!!!  Here is a link about what a US Army ranger is.  Click here.

At the graduation they went through a series of what the Army Rangers learned.  Here they are in line showing the different infantry weapons.

After walking across the log-walk this ranger climbed out on the rope, lowered himself on the rope hung there and then asked to drop in the water.  Matt said that they had to do the log-walk on the 1st day of ranger school.

The Black Hawk that picked up 4 men on the ground.  The army rangers attached themselves to the rope and the Black Hawk took them up, up, and away.  I can't even imagine doing this.

Right before we left Utah we took one more camping trip.  We went camping with Steve, Brooke, Ashley, Lexy, and of course Oliver.  It was awesome to be on the boat and to sit around the campfire making smoores.  The girls also taught us about how to roast a starburst.  If you haven't tried it you should because they are soo good.

Lagoon Day Fun

Today Bruce and I decided to celebrate the end of summer term with a day at Lagoon.  We had so much fun and it was great to laugh the whole day. For more information on Lagoon click here.

Timpview High School Reunion 25 years

Today Bruce and I went to his 25 year High School reunion.  It was really fun to meet the people who knew Bruce when... One fact that I thought was fun to learn is that Bruce was voted most likely to become President.

Mom and Dad Swihart Visit Provo, UT

Mom and Dad Swihart made the journey to Provo this summer while we were living there.  

Here they are in the Wilkinson Center on Thursday, August 7th.  They use to have lunch often there and it was fun to re-create this photo of them at a similar table.  

The next day Friday, August 8th we wanted to hike up Timpanogos to the cave and do the tour so we got up early and started our journey upward.  To see more information on Timpanogos click here.

After Hiking back down we went home and had some yummy Brickoven Pizza.  Probably the best Pizza in all of Utah.  Next we headed up to Salt Lake City to go to the temple there.

After our visit to the temple and temple square we went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and had a wonderful dinner with the view of the Salt Lake Temple right next to us.  As we finished our meal the sun was setting and even though we had had a full day it was wonderful to be with my parents.

Mom and Dad we are so glad that you were able to come to Provo and play with us for a couple of days.  Thanks for all the memories!!

Lexy gets baptized

Today Lexy Pritchett was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Bruce Pritchett Jr. gave the talk on the Importance of Baptism and what it means to her.  Her Grandfather Mike Pritchett did the Baptism and Bruce Pritchett did the confirmation.  We are so proud of her making this choice in her life.  CONGRATULATIONS LEXY we love you!!!
