Mom and Dad Swihart Visit Provo, UT

Mom and Dad Swihart made the journey to Provo this summer while we were living there.

Here they are in the Wilkinson Center on Thursday, August 7th.  They use to have lunch often there and it was fun to re-create this photo of them at a similar table.

The next day Friday, August 8th we wanted to hike up Timpanogos to the cave and do the tour so we got up early and started our journey upward.  To see more information on Timpanogos click here.

Bruce and Mom on the Trail

View of Utah Valley from the trail.  It was wonderful to be up and see all the beauty.

Dad and Mom in the cave after the long hike up.

After Hiking back down we went home and had some yummy Brickoven Pizza.  Probably the best Pizza in all of Utah.  Next we headed up to Salt Lake City to go to the temple there.

After our visit to the temple and temple square we went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and had a wonderful dinner with the view of the Salt Lake Temple right next to us.  As we finished our meal the sun was setting and even though we had had a full day it was wonderful to be with my parents.

All of us at the Garden Resaurant in Salt Lake City, UT.

Mom and Dad we are so glad that you were able to come to Provo and play with us for a couple of days.  Thanks for all the memories!!

Salt Lake City Temple Square

Bruce and I had the chance on Monday night to visit Temple Square.  I was humbled by the work and sacrifice made by so many to construct this amazing building.  To learn more about temple square click here.

Here is my best image of the Salt Lake Temple.
This photo is taken from the South East side of the temple.

A lot of newly married couples take their pictures in front of these doors.  Bruce and I wanted one and it just so happened that we matched.

Another popular shoot.
This is a photo of the Mormon Tabernacle, click here for more information on that building. We stayed around for the sound demonstration and you can literally hear a pin drop from anywhere in the building.

Date Night in Provo

So here in Utah they have a lot of miniature Golf Places.  Bruce took me to Traflga.
We had a lot of fun.  I have played miniature golf before but forgot how lightly you need to tap the ball into the holes.  The first round Bruce wiped me out but the second round it came down to the last hole.

View of the Castle when you walk in.

Road Trip to UT 6/16/08 - 6/18/08

This summer Bruce and I headed for Provo, UT.  We are here because I have chosen to go back to BYU for the summer term and finish out my Freshman Year so that I can start working on my Bachelors in General Education.

Oliver and Bruce were great on the Road Trip.  On the way out we stopped in Knoxville, TN. (4 hours from home).  Then onto Kansas City, KS (11hrs.)  Next stop Cheyenne, WY (8 hrs.) Then finally Provo, UT (6 hours.)  All in all Bruce and I had a
great time in the car.  We didn't take many photo's but here are a few from the road trip.

ARCHWAY in ST. LOUIS, MO

Oliver's Favorite Place to ride in the car,
on my lap but also on the pillow.
At least one of us was ultra-comfortable:)

This is some of the flooding that we saw in Iowa.
At this point Bruce and I felt very blessed because the next day we heard that there was more flooding and we aren't sure if this road would have been open.
In this photo we are on a two lane highway but only one lane is open because the water is on the other lane.

Finally Provo and our temporary home.
Bruce and Oliver taking a much needed nap:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE #43

I took Bruce to Bucci's in Davidson, NC.
It is an Italian restaurant that our friends told us about.
Bruce said that the food was "stuff-your-cheeks-full" good.

When we got home I presented Bruce with his favorite cake.
It is from a company called Tizzerts.
It is a Chocolate Truffle Cake - YUM YUM!

This is Bruce's B-Day Loot
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE!!!  I LOVE YOU
